So ages and ages ago I read a book in a book club and really enjoyed it. I was trying to remember the title to tell my friend and I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s called.
Things I remember about it: it was about a female writer (I think she was a writer) who one day suddenly decided to stop speaking.
1000’s of people decided to stop speaking as well and the country became sort of divided into speakers and non speakers. There was a journalist who was a major part of the story, as well as a woman who was in an arranged marriage and wanted to leave.
Please does this ring any bells with anyone?! It’s driving me crazy!!
