He's got his knighthood now so dont think he needs to keep up the country gent act, the right people have already noticed. Why do famous people do this? Madonna was the same when she married Guy Ritchie and it was just as unbelieveable. Also I doubt his editing skills are up to much but then it's not really about that is it.

I’m sure he’s not going to be checking the SPAG, more just having an input into what they include in his edition. Maybe bee keeping and natty dressing 🙂 I like him.

Not hateful, just dislike people who’ve got so much being given more opportunities and also his country gent persona is a bit silly - he’s posing with a shepherd’s crook and a cap and his over-Botoxed face. I just find it pretentious.

Yes they are - I'm from one and I enjoy it but I don't dress up and develop a daft new persona, I just get on with it.

I guess the knighhood has irked me - not just DB who seems a nice enough chap, but that they so often to go to the wrong people. I suppose he's better than a politician 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lots of people who come from more modest backgrounds do this. See influencers like Lydia Millen or Josie. They realise despite the wealth there are still some doors that are closed to them. The landed gentry still think they are a cut above the noveaux rich. Not sure why as there is a lot to be said for people who've built their wealth off their own success but there you go.

I like him, but as he cannot even speak coherently, I wonder how he can edit anything.🙄

It's Country Life magazine. The only people he's taking opportunities from are the Poppies and Arabellas who could probably use a month off to work on their interior design businesses.

Just to add I don't see have any problems with David Beckham remodeling himself as country gent. If he lives in the country, stands to reason that his interests may have changed and developed.

Honestly both him and Victoria look daft when they do their 'country' style. Real country folk don't dress like that. Not even country folk with money.

Queuing for the Queen was a stroke of genius for his PR guys. People forget all the other not so nice sides to him.

He’s a pleasant enough man, but I doubt even his charitable efforts which some in the media seem to think were a means to an end, don’t mean he deserves a knighthood. He already had an OBE- isn’t that sufficient recognition ? Posing as the country gent does seem pretentious.
