I didn't know where else to post but I'm so fed up with buying new bras and then failing on me. I'm a 36G for reference.

Ive recently tried a lemonade dolls bra thinking it would be a game changer but my boobs continually fall out of it 😭
Bought 2 M&S plunge bras for wearing low cut tops but any slight bit of movement and I fall out of them.

I've tried from so many places and they either don't hold me in or the wire pokes out after a couple of wears.
Could someone please, please recommend a decent bra to me .....

I have been wearing Satine bravissimo bras for the last 10 or so years (34FF) and they look great but I find them so uncomfortable now! Too tight around the ribcage and I can't wait to get them off. Do I need a different size or style all of a sudden? Are there comfortable versions!?

Rigby and Peller, if your budget will stretch to it. Expensive but worth it.

Totally agree. Just switched to Rigby and Peller and the bra fits and is comfortable. Expensive but worth it.

I’m bigger than you (K cup…) and only wear Molke.

Never ever going back to underwires.

DoYouReally · 07/06/2025 12:48

100% Bravissimo.

I'm in Ireland and used to order buy so much from them but then they closer their only store here (Belfast) and the additional taxes now due to Brexit just makes the cost ridiculous.

So disappointed, there's nothing as good available here 😞

AlertCat · 07/06/2025 13:45

John Lewis for a fitting. I’ve always found Fantasie and Freya (same company) work well for me and they do last a good while although pricey to start with.

(Never been in Bravissimo because there isn’t one accessible to me.)

hannonle · 07/06/2025 13:56

I'm only an E cup but I like the Fantasie brand. Ana is a nice one.

They've got a bit expensive now (£50) so I've tried https://tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/product/tuc145385491 which only goes up to an E cup but is fantastic for a tenner! Available in several colours if you do a search. Annoyingly none of them have been linked on one page.

I'm also wearing a non-wired bra for the first time. https://tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/product/tuc145375516 also available in white and up to GG in some sizes £14.

So if anyone reading is a similar size (36E/38E) I'd definitely recommend trying those two

I don't do padded or under wire bras, and I love Lemonade Dolls. I know you say you've tried them, but are you definitely in the right size?
When I first tried them, I thought they sat quite wide, and the bra migrated towards my armpit and my boobs fell out the middle, but I contacted them for advice, and they were super helpful, and after changing to the size they recommended, I think they're brilliant

FTHC · 07/06/2025 14:32

I really like Panache ENVY

I tried a Molke it's weird

triplechoc · 07/06/2025 14:40

Panache tango are the only bras I wear (36HH, saggy, heavy!) - they’re expensive, but worth it for me. I’ve tried others that initially seem to fit, but after a couple of hours the wires or straps dig in, or I don’t feel secure. These are what I keep going back to.
Agree with PP that a trip to Bravissimo, or a good independent shop, would be worth it.

I like that second one! Do you find the sizing similar to Bravissimo? I buy a 34FF there but am not finding them comfortable any more, maybe it's my age?! I don't know whether to try a 36?

RampantIvy · 07/06/2025 14:51

If anyone is in the Sheffield, Barnsley or Huddersfield area I can recommend a truly excellent independent lingerie shop.

Tbh I've never used bravissimo.

My fantasie bras are 36E, but I need 38 in other brands.
It's free delivery and returns to stores so I tried a few and returned the unwanted.

buffyandspikeandfaith · 07/06/2025 15:31

elomi Matilda were always my fave but I’m sized out now so gone to the bravissimo Delilah - great uplift and comfortable

It’s worth watching eBay and vinted, a lot appear often brand new on eBay

Bras are like trainers.

You need a decent fitting. Independent shops tend to have more knowledgable staff.

What other people wear is completely useless to you.

Bigcat25 · 07/06/2025 15:36

Try prima Donna bras.

This 100%
Jeans, shoes and bras are all a very personal shape thing which is why going to somewhere like Bravissimo or an independent with a big range of brands and styles would be best.

I'm a bra fitter & the VAST majority of ladies who come to us are wearing a bra that is too big in the back & too small in the cup & if you're falling out you're definitely wearing a cup that is too small. I'd hazard a guess you're 34H.

We don't use a tape measure, they don't work! When ladies say they are wearing a bra that was fitted by M&S we inwardly roll our eyes as they never fit.

Our best selling bra for larger cups is the Elomi Morgan, which works well for most ladies but you MUST get fitted properly first & NOT with a tape measure!

I really liked the Elomi Morgan when I ordered a few to try, feels like a good quality bra, but now my boobs are not as full/crepey skin/squishy soft the elastic across the top of the cup causing an indent on my soft boob means it isn't a nice shape. Otherwise a lovely bra, some very nice colours and liked the side support. I tried bigger cups but they were just baggy and still had the indent.

This has happened to me too. I’ve been wearing the same bra from Fantasie for years. I keep buying the same style but now they dig into my ribs and I can’t wait to take it off. I’ve measured and my rib size is the same. Are there any underwired bras that are a different shape along the bottom or aren’t as low?

Possibly an unpopular opinion but I always find that Bravissimo fit much too snug around the band. I’ve wasted money on bras that fit ok in the shop but are agony once you’ve been wearing them for a few hours.

DontTouchRoach · 08/06/2025 18:48

Bravissimo but for god’s sake get them to do a fitting on you because I’d bet my last quid that you’re not a 36G. I’m guessing you’re actually needing a smaller band and a bigger cup.

I’m a 34GG/H and Bravissimo’s own brand and Fantasie (which they also stock) are my favourites.

Lemonade Dolls are utter shite.

The bravissimo Millie doesn’t fit me well at all as my boobs are quite high, so it gives me a weird shape as the straps are quite far over on the cup. The Lacey bra is great though - it has more centrally placed straps.

The Millie is a balconette style, so the straps are designed to be to the outer side rather than central.

Guilty as charged 🤦‍♀️

I’ve just started making my own bras and after spending all that time making them I definitely hand wash. It’s not remotely a big deal. I wear them once or twice before washing, put them in a bowl of warm (not hot) water with some soak washing liquid and leave them for around half an hour, agitating once or twice. Rinse, wrap in a towel to get the water out and hang to dry. Apparently they should dry flat but I don’t have the means to do that.

HoratioBellsOn · 09/06/2025 12:48

TaggieO · 09/06/2025 08:02

It's useful for others to know because to can search on Bravissimo by style, so if someone didn't know that's called a balconette, they do now and can search including or excluding that style.

SusanChurchouse · 09/06/2025 13:08

Panache Clara is a brilliant bra for a fuller bust. But you have be fitted, not measured. I had to buy 2 new bras last week and was different sizes in different styles even by the same manufacturer. Bravissimo is fine, though I often find them quite rushed. I have an independent place near me which is much better.

full disclosure, I machine wash my bras on a delicate cycle and they’ve always survived.
