Warning: pics are a bit gross

Got this on the back of my thigh and in my groin crease on both sides. Have had some covid-like viral illness for the past 4 days so wonder if it's due to that. The rash appeared two days ago and I've taken an antihistamine I had (famotidine) for another issue which hasn't helped. Not sure what to do? Has anyone had this? Just concerned as not gone after 2 days.

Urticaria?

Yeah they do seem like hives. Google says hives generally disappear in a day or two though and these are getting worse :(

Those are a mild allergic reaction to something. I used to get them all of the time when I had cats, as I have a mild allergy to them. They are similar to heatbumps but heatbumps are temperature dependent and would have gone down after 48 hours. Avoid scratching them. Soaking your arms in cool water will help to ease discomfort. Avoid touching possible allergens such as animals or pollenated plants.

I had a similar viral rash. I had a couple of different types of antihistamines and a steroid ointment from the GP because I was in a lot of pain/discomfort. It took a week or so to go.
