Just as the title suggested …. I’m horrified that these two young people received such a light sentence/punishment. It’s disgusting and I hope it’s appealed.

I'm not sure, given his age. However the girl should have got a custodial sentence, in theory. However there's very violent men not getting prison because of overcrowding. I don't like that women are receiving harsher sentences because of that.
I do think that youth crime is spiralling out of control.

They collectively subjected an 80 year old defenceless man to a 7 and a half minute vicious attack which caused his death while racially abusing him. Absolutely fucking scum who will not change. The sentence is absurdly light, what an insult to his memory.
The family should appeal this, they will have the support of the community and wider public. He was loved and deserved to love the remainder of his life peacefully , these two pieces of shit brutally ended it and need to be punished

I am so sick fed up of society seemingly revolving around the worst scum imaginable, while ordinary, law abiding people have the privilege of paying for it, and if we're unlucky, falling prey to it. And there's barely police for any actual crimes now.

What was really horrifying was that he had reported racist attacks in the area earlier, and nobody did anything.

I believe that “children” who commit horrific crimes should not be allowed a cloak of anonymity. They were old enough to premeditate this crime so should suffer the consequences . I hope their parents are truly horrified by what their children have done.

I agree. If you’re old enough to kill, you’re old enough to be accountable. They both need harsher sentences

They should have got much longer. We pander to criminals far too much in this country.
