Also, just to add to the excitement, I bought some preserved lemons while I was in there.

Never used them before.

They are also still in the shopping bag in the hallway, they will make it to the kitchen in due course.

Its a good question. I saw a recipe the other day, beans and harissa, preserved lemons. I think I want to try it. I'll see if I can find it.

I lost all sympathy for M&S when they threw women under the bus and let men use the same changing rooms as women and then refused to listen to women who objected.

I have a guilty secret about M&S that I haven’t told anyone yet because I feel a little ashamed. Just days before the cyber attack I bought some T-shirts online and when I went to check out, a ‘student beans’ discount had been applied to my bag. I have no idea why. I’m 53 and haven’t been a student in 30 years. It was obvious it was a mistake but I thought ‘what the heck’ and paid for the items less the discount. 2 days later M&S imploded and I suspect the hackers were running riot for a few hours beforehand doing all sorts. I feel very guilty that I benefitted from this. So today in my Ocado shop I bought one of those ridiculous £8 Big Daddy chocolate bars as penance. Will I be forgiven?

Its funny you mention biscuits because I meant to go down the biscuit aisle but Ive got an awful habit of going into stores for just a couple of bits so I dont tend to take a basket, I already had the beauty bag in my shopping bag because I'd paid for it upstairs. So I went into the foodhall to grab some eggs and flour, no basket, these were heavier than anticipated and then I saw the preserved lemons so now Ive got a shopping bag over one arm, heavy rucksack for work, balancing bags of flour, eggs and a jar of the lemons and I really wanted biscuits but thought I better not chance my luck, there could be a terrible spillage.

So no biscuits is the long and short of it.

This is spooky. The last time I went to M&S I needed to get Preserved Lemons. And I’m going tomorrow to get the beauty bag 🔮

I think you need to suck on one of the preserved lemons as penance. Not sure chocolate is actual penance....

By the way, that recipe I posted doesnt look right, not sure you should just put rinsed dried beans in a slow cooker, surely they have to be soaked first?
