Fancy dress 30th party in summer - outfit ideas

I'm going to a fancy dress party in Summer and I'm overweight. Around size 20-22. I need outfit ideas so if anyone can think of a decent fancy dress costume for an apple shaped woman, please help!

Is there a theme?

I once wore jodhpurs, a loose white shirt, a waistcoat and a drawn on moustache as Mr Darcy. I thought it looked good and people seemed to like it!

No it's a free for all you can go as anyone from anything so that in itself is unhelpfully vague.

I'm a larger woman and I went as the trunchbull last dress up party 🤣 it was a huge hit. I just wrote the writing on a grey jumper with a pen. Cost nothing. If this is outing I don't really care I'm very proud of my miss trunchbull

Do you have any theme in mind or anything that’s totally off the table? Is the location of the party going to be a factor (Outdoor, stately manor, etc.)

Without any additional info how about “Mother Earth” - White flowy dress or homemade toga, lots of fake flowers attached (Example 1 from Amazon Example 2 from Amazon, a floral staff (Example Amazon not this one but something like it, butterflies, fairy lights.

Do you want to look amusing, as in don't care if you look ridiculous/ unattractive as you're in it for the laughs, or do you want something you'll feel nice and attractive in?

If you have a flowery dress and bright cardigan (royal blue or pink) you can go as Delores Umbridge from Harry Potter.

When you say a fancy dress party you mean a costume party correct?

Who throws just a generic costume party? There should always be a theme.

How do you want to look? Funny? Sexy?

White dress with ivy headband, Greek goddess.

Green floral dress, floral headband, tefiti from moana.

Black and white, cruella de vil.

Flower power, round sunglass, hippy vibe.

Demin dungarees, yellow t-shirt, minion.

Really depends in what you feel comfortable with but at the height of summer, I'd try to avoid nylon and facepaint

Am a similar size. Have you got a friend / partner that will go dresses up as similar theme? I've done various costume parties before - blues brothers (dark trousers, blazer, shirt, tie, sunnies and dark hat), flappers (got a dress and accessories from amazon). 80s style madonna - crimped hair, rara skirt and fingerless gloves. Could be ghostbusters? Sixties style with some big hair?

Anyone there that you fancy?

Sparkly shift-dress, headband with feather, long cigarette holder - Flapper

Nightshirt, slippers, string bag with 2 teddy bears in it, carry other big teddy and packet of porridge oats - Goldilocks

How about a 90s raver? Smiley t-shirt(or similar) , sunglasses, whistle, bucket hat? Hair in bunches?

A cat, black dress and hairband with cat ears. And winged eyeliner. Maybe a tail.
