To think this is odd reporting of the journalist who is no longer missing

Regarding this article in the independent about the journalist Charlotte Peet - (www.independent.co.uk/news/world/british-journalist-found-brazil-charlotte-peet-b2762866.html#comments-area). If the case is closed and she's essentially said this was voluntary and she's no longer classed as missing - why on earth do they feel the need to include cctv footage of her going to and from hostels as well as details from her LinkedIn. Assuming she's remaining in the area and continuing her hostel'ing. What a breech of her privacy that she has so clearly expressed that she wants. And on top of that she's a journalist that's worked for them, you think they'd give her some personal breathing room now it's no longer a missing person story.

I noticed that too. I wondered if it was a 'scraping the bottom of the barrel' story, ie no news but we'll write it anyway. Or if there actually is something much more to it. I saw a comment suggesting coercive control of her. But I still can't work out why publishing the story would be of benefit exactly.

I think it’s a good news story on balance (although still sad for her parents that she has gone none-contact). I am guessing that the footage was already released when she was believed to be missing?

I am old enough to remember the two little girls who were abducted and thankfully found, then being paraded on the beach for a press call. Even as a teenager in the safeguarding-free late eighties (or perhaps it was the early nineties) I thought that significantly invaded their privacy, especially as details of sexual abuse came out during the kidnapper’s trial.

As an adult, the missing journalist always had the option of communicating to someone that she was going non-contact.
