Prosecuting for coercive control

Makingmymindup1 · 04/06/2025 23:24

Finally leave my husband after years of controlling behaviour (narc).

I am not he first partner he has done this with and the previous partner is willing to state this in court.

Has anyone successfully prosecuted an ex for coercive control?

Not prosecuted myself but I work in a court and we get quite a few cases involving coercive control. CPS won't let it get to the court stage if they don't think there's much chance of a conviction. Good luck 🤞

@Makingmymindup1 has there been any violence or anything sexually related ?

Makingmymindup1 · 04/06/2025 23:44

At what point will the perpetrator be notified of your allegations.

Nothing sexual, thrown things at me, near me and driven extremely erratically to scare me during one of his tantrums. Squared up to me so I couldn’t move.

Lied and manipulated me.

If I logged it with 101, would he know and would they advise as to whether I had a case?

They will be notified when it’s reported to Police who will then contact them and quite possibly arrest them.

@Makingmymindup1 i would seek legal advice tbh .
Can you apply for a non molestation order ? Maybe a solicitor would ask you to report the incidents first.
Im sure if he was charged even though it may not make it to court it would show on a Claire’s law application for anyone in the future .

What did you end up doing? I am considering this also
