and a ball, in a field in moscow, are getting a bit worked up about nothing, and could probably be more useful in the kitchen unloading the dishwasher?

YABU - it's a momentous occasion!

Sod the dirty dishes.

ninja · 21/05/2008 22:43

at least they're not spending all the holiday money in Moscow like my dh!! I can understand getting excited for a few hours, just not the NEED to be there

bran · 21/05/2008 22:44

It can't be that momentous MMH, I have no idea what's happening (although I'm guessing if it involves a ball and a field then it's sport, and if it's Moscow then it's more likely to be football than rugby).

They could definitely be more useful, my dishwasher needs unloading for instance, as does my washing machine. [lazy mare emoticon]

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 21/05/2008 22:45

Well if they don't work/or even if they do, and they don't contribute to family life, and they don't help around the house, you may have a point.

If they work their asses off and they help around the house, and they are enjoying some down time. You are being duller than a dull thing.

cornsilk · 21/05/2008 22:45

They're starting with the fireworks round here now!

mumoftwo37 · 21/05/2008 22:45

My DH can be heard snoring from down the road! He has been in bed since 8.00 when he had a hissy fit that they have not put Corrie on tonight.

melpomene · 21/05/2008 22:48

scottishmummy · 21/05/2008 22:48

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 21/05/2008 22:49

i could quite easily go out with a machine gun and mow them all down

i BLOODY hate football

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 21/05/2008 22:50

my dh wanted to go to moscow

HA!

get real

SweetieDarling · 21/05/2008 23:00

YANBU. Er, there'll be another big match next year, and the year after that, and the year after that, and the year after that.

Nobody'll be crying over this 2008 UEFA thingyummy say, March 2009. They'll have moved on to the next big game to cry over. Boo hoo.

boozybird · 21/05/2008 23:00

and presumably it means that a great proportion of the men around me tomorrow (in London) are going to be either really p*ssed off and grumpy, or really hungover. or both.

joy. can't wait for the Netball Championship finals, when are they on again? in Barbados you say? i've always been a fan...

SweetieDarling · 21/05/2008 23:04

Yap and boozybird, what about the great proportion of smug men tomorrow who support Man U, crowing and preening like they were personally responsible for winning the cup.

I don't know which is worse TBH!!!

It's the first ever all English final! It was very exciting!

scottishmummy · 21/05/2008 23:07

for whom?

madamez · 21/05/2008 23:09

This is one of the things that totally baffles me about mundanes. I can just about understand that it might be quite interesting and exciting to run about in a field chasing a ball, and by a combination of luck and skill, score more points with the ball than someone else. But to get all excited about watching other people run about in a field chasing a ball? FFS I really, really don;t understand why anyone would want to watch this sort of thing.
