AIBU to think this is odd? A colleague of mine told me he was interviewing at a company and he got that interview because someone else who used to work at our company wanted to hire him.
During a catch up dinner he told me if I’m looking for a new role I should be patient and wait because their company will grow like crazy.
A few weeks later on the phone he said he would broker an intro, messaged his boss (at old and new company) to say I’m looking, should we intro her and the guy replied saying million percent. They agreed the more senior guy do it and he’s been great. Now the ball is rolling the colleague who had the idea in the first place has gone all cold.
I feel so excited to be in conversations (a role might become available soon) but I feel this guy is going to scupper my chances before I get a chance to get into a process. When I called him last night he said I should look for other things too…
