NC family now want us to look after FIL

pretty much as it says, DH has been NC with his dad for about 30 years, they tried to reconcile about 3 years ago, but dad wasn't really bothered. DH's siblings have also been NC for a long time due to some false allegations and efforts to wreck our marriage.

it now seems that FIL is getting forgetful and DH's sibligs have been in touch with DH and have assume that we will drop everything and run too FIL's aid!

DH says absolutely not, and i agree but are we being unreasonable? his dad has wanted nothing to do with his son for 30 years, his siblings have wanted nothing to do with him for at least 7 years, so why should he now be responsible?

That's the easiest 'No' I've ever seen on here! It's hard enough when it's someone you love that you have to care for, but when it's someone who hasn't cared for you at all, it's a whole other level. Of course the relatives want your husband to take it on. They know he's a decent man and they're hoping he'll put on his #bekind hat and take away all their problems. Of course if your FIL is leaving any money, they wouldn't think your husband was entitled to any of it.
