Hi mumsnetters, this is my first post.
I am 14.5 weeks pg and have just started to think about maternity leave from work, i.e. how much I want to take etc. I will not be discussing it with my employer just yet.
The thing is, I would like to take a whole year, and am fortunate enough to be in a position to do so. However, I am worried about what my employer will do with my work while I am away. If they get someone new in to cover, what if they are better at my job than I am, and what if my customers prefer them over me? I have worked hard over 3 years to build up my client relationships and have put systems in place, set up the way I like to run things etc, and I am slightly paranoid that I would come back to find either that whoever takes over my work will have changed my systems or "stolen" my customers!
I am pretty possessive over my work but I like to know that things are being done properly...
Anyone else had these worries?
(PS I'm due mid Nov)

ok firstly YANBU at all, however you'l get better advice from employment issues section a lady called flowerybeanbag, basically your company are legally bound to give you your job back, at the same level but for a technical answer id repost in employment issues! best of luck and congrats!
