They are fine.
Your overall level is a good level (3.7), your HDL -your ‘good’ fats- are good, your ratio between the two is also good.
are you concerned?
If you have other health issues (diabetes for example) or are over a certain age, you may be offered statins as a preventative to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, regardless of your cholesterol readings.

Overall is good - below 5. HDL is good cholesterol. Your bad cholesterol is slightly higher than good cholesterol (you want it to be the other way round).

Lifestyle wise...more nuts and avocados and extra virgin olive oil and less butter.

Fine results, you won't need statins anyway!

Your image has your doctor's email address and number in it which doesn't seem very fair. You might want to report your post to @MNHQ.

Re cholesterol, I believe your HDL is borderline, exercise is one way thought to increase it.

LivMumsnet · 01/06/2025 20:51

Evening @laurmil20 - we're just bobbing onto the thread to let you know that we removed your image as it included info which could potentially identify you. Do feel free to repost it without your GP's details if you're still looking for advice from MNers.

laurmil20 · 01/06/2025 21:19

Thankyou I've amended the picture

Yes I've had numerous blood tests as I'm on a medication known to raise cholesterol and have to get my liver checked - I always ask for the cholesterol results.

Anyway I made a massive impact on cholesterol which was creeping up when I combined good diet and exercise together. Exercise is key.
