To want to follow fitness / health insta accounts without being harassed

I am trying to be healthier and exercise more so have been following insta accounts for inspiration. Obviously the more I follow, the more I see.

But every single time I follow an account lately I receive a follow up message asking what my goals are yadda yadda.

I posted about this here a while ago and was told they are just extending the feelers out and do this to everyone, so just ignore. Which I have been doing.

But lately some have been so persistent. One woman messaged me asking why I hadn't opened her message sent a few days before, another just sent a message saying "ouch. Ghosted"

I don't want to stop following fitness pages as they really are so useful for my motivation, but the constant stream of messages are just so intrusive.

Has anyone else had this? And what did you do?

I was a bit surprised by this too. Other accounts I follow don’t DM me but fitness ones nearly always do. Probably looking for PT customers or someone to buy their plans. It’s all a marketing ploy and it’s pretty annoying.

One guy was messaging almost daily even though I never replied. I unfollowed and blocked.

set up a second account for these kinds of follows, ignore the messages - you can also block messages. job done

It's just too much isn't it? Only one guy told me to reach out if I wanted anything. I did actually reply to him to thank him for not doing the hard sell

Now that is a really good idea 👍
