i live in and own semi detached and the wall is like paper I can hear a tap. Detached houses are around £210k round here which I cant afford :(

Often during the day they will play loud music I have tried to ask them to turn it down but it just goes back up again

Would soundproofing work against loud music or do I have to try and move

Watch Home and Away instead?

Sound proofing will help if you have the space and do it properly. Get good advice from professionals first as it probably won't stop vibrations through the joists.

Sorry for you to have this. I have the same but it’s shouting and screaming all day long. I’m so on edge.

where roughly do you like that you can get a detached for £210k? I’m south east and that would even buy a 1 bedroom flat. I’d love to move to detached and work from home so could live anywhere!!

Move rooms within your house so you're not sitting against the party wall?

@user1476613140 cant as all the rooms are against my neighbour

stairs on opposite side of properties

living rooms and bedrooms all directly next to each other on same wall of two properties :(

My neighbour had done works done including an extension which is adjacent to ours. They had thick insulation board put it and I can’t hear them in there at all but can hear them on the adjoining older parts of the house.
Or, if you have space, build a garden studio to work in.

Sorry it isn't a possibility for you. Was just trying to think of immediate solutions to help...we had to do this recently ourselves due to neighbours being very loud at weekends into the small hours. We are sick of it.
