No nut snickers?

feelingrobbed · 27/05/2025 13:07

Just had a snickers and for moment I thought it was a mars as there were barely any nuts in it!

Is it just me getting a random one or is this a COL thing and they’ve gone to shit?

I remember a very memorable packed lunch when I was about 8 - my salt and shake crisps had no packet of salt and my kitkat had no wafer in 😂

Verv · 27/05/2025 13:13

Random i think

Needmorelego · 27/05/2025 13:16

@feelingrobbed did it actually have any nuts ? If none at all it might be a miss packaged Mars bar and that would need reporting to the manufacturer.
@Crisisorchangeofheart I secretly love it if I get a waferless KitKat despite the fact I love KitKats 😂

Backinthesummerof89 · 27/05/2025 13:17

At the weekend, I treated myself to a Snickers for the first time in ages. I am a chocolate lover and there aren't many bars that I don't like but thought it tasted awful and most of the nuts were tiny crumbly pieces. Certain chocolate bars are really going downhill in quality.

On a side note, last year I bought a Kit Kat which turned out to be pure chocolate, I was so excited, (doesn't take much to please me).

Oh, maybe the pure chocolate Kit Kats aren't as rare as I thought lol!

feelingrobbed · 27/05/2025 13:18

@Needmorelegoit did have nuts in but a very small amount crushed up to basically nothing. It was pointless. I brought it because I really fancied something nutty 😂

If it had nuts then it's probably cost saving. You very rarely get full nuts in peanut M&Ms. Most of the pack is made up of half a nut.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 27/05/2025 13:31

I had a solid chocolate Club biscuit once..!

Koazy · 27/05/2025 13:35

Sure it wasn’t a Mars bar? Grin

DinoLil · 27/05/2025 13:36

I bought a packet of Foxes biscuits recently and one was solid chocolate. I put in a light hearted email to let them know and they tracked down a fault in their machine and gave me a £5 voucher.

MrsAvocet · 27/05/2025 13:40

I had a Whole Nut with one nut in it recently. It was a whole one though so I suppose technically* *the description was accurate! I was very disappointed as I don't even like Cadbury's chocolate that much these days but I just fancied something nutty and basically got a Dairy Milk. Unfortunately I'd eaten most of it before I realised so had no evidence for a complaint.

About 6 years ago, I bought some Special K Purple Berries. There were no berries in the box. Filled in the online form on the Kellogg's website. Two days later, I got £5 voucher through the post.

Try the Aldi versions of Mars and Snickers - Titan and Racer (I think) - much nicer and CHEAPER!

Luluco · 27/05/2025 13:42

I had one yesterday for the first time in ages and I thought the same thing. Barely any nuts in it.

Mars is nougat filling, Snickers has caramel filling. Its not just the nuts that is the differential.

Mars is nougat and caramel.
Snickers is nougat, caramel and nuts.
Milky Way is just nougat.
Unless you're American then it's all different 😂

We're big fans of the Aldi knock-off brands in our house, particularly the chocolate and snacks. May I reccomend their Snickers equivalent Racers? Plenty of nuts in them. My husband, who is particular about chocolate, thinks their Mars version, Titans, are every bit as good as the real thing too, though much cheaper naturally!

Everlore · 27/05/2025 15:19

Sorry, I just read previous posts and see that other commenters had already beaten me to the Racers reccomendation! Glad to find other lovers of Aldi's copy cat brands on here! I'm also particularly taken with their own Jaffa Cakes, they taste nicer than the Mcvities ones, are slightly bigger, you get more in a sleeve and, of course, they're cheaper.

JohnTheRevelator · 27/05/2025 16:03

I remember getting a Kit Kat several years ago (from a multi pack) and it was solid chocolate, no wafer. On another occasion,I had a packet of salt and shake crisps (multi pack again) that had 6 sachets of salt in it.

coxesorangepippin · 27/05/2025 20:47

So basically a mars bar

I was so distracted by the lack of nuts I’ve just realised there was barely any caramel either!!

was deffo a snickers. Hopefully a bad one. I should complain. I’ve gotten lazy. Once years ago I had a tin of biscuits with the happy face jam ones in it.
the faces were all wrong and looked like devils. I spent hours the day after Boxing Day ringing the helpline to complain they’d ruined my Christmas. Ended up having to go gluten free and never had them again 💔

For research purposes I’ll buy another tomorrow.

after all the comments I’ll be switching to the Aldi version after that or giving them up for good.

All chocolate and chocolate bars in this country have gone to seed apart from Dairy Milk. My favourite type of chocolate of all has always been an Easter egg chocolate shell. The Smarties one and the Buttons one were the best. Since Nestle took over Rowntrees, the Smarties one is horrible. Mondelez have always promised not to.fiddle with dairy milk so the buttons eggs seems to taste the same although I'm not 100%...

However Snickers have no such excuse as Mars have always owned them. So I've no idea what they are playing at re the nuts.

Pancakeflipper · 28/05/2025 18:27

Will.avoid a snickers if not loaded with nuts anymore.

I once got a small bag of popcorn from.the shop. It was a chilli flavour. But it had NO flavour. Not even salty.

I was hormonal (pregnant) and contacted them (tweeted them I think). They sent me 2 big boxes of all their flavoured popcorn.
There had been an error in the flavouring section of the production line.
