These aren't BNWT?

Looking for some ankle boots on Vinted. Just seen these described as BNWT. You can see the scuffs all over the soles. Am I going mad, can I not take the stickers off the bottom of my shoes, wear them then sell as BNWT? 😂

I'm not sure. Wouldn't they be more scuffed if worn.

Maybe they've been worn once or indoors

I'm no expert but people definitely list things as BNWT or brand new without tags and they're clearly not brand new!

Theoldholeyjumper · 26/05/2025 20:42

Those are definitely worn!
Maybe only once but they’ve been worn. There’s dirt on the soles.

That's what I thought. They are clearly worn, but still have a sticker on the bottom. Why say they are BNWT.

I’d ask to see the tags.

ThinWomansBrain · 26/05/2025 21:26

you think the description is wrong and they aren't what you want? - Don't buy them.
Why describe then as BNWT? To get a sale/higher price - it's not rocket science.

House0fBamboo · 26/05/2025 21:27

It's like the people modelling things then claiming they've never been worn 😂

TeenLifeMum · 26/05/2025 21:28

Are they shop floor ones so worn for trying on? They’ve not been worn much at all. For £8 I don’t think I’d be that fussy.

ChateauMargaux · 26/05/2025 21:30

They are £8..

Doggymummar · 26/05/2025 21:32

Way to get eyes on your item!

SlaveToMyFanny · 26/05/2025 21:45

I think people just say anything they want sometimes on Vinted - like Only worn once or twice when it's a complete bobblefest.

Cheffymcchef · 26/05/2025 21:47

Report the listing

Even if they are only £8 I wouldn't wear shoes someone else had worn.
A bit like wearing second hand underwear.

Some people pay quite a lot extra for that........

nomas · 27/05/2025 06:35

Which ones are they? It’s just linking to all of that seller’s items.

Or maybe the ones you mean are sold now?

Yeh, I get the same. Someone has bought them or the seller is on MN.

Hardlyworking · 27/05/2025 07:13

I bought a brand new without tags top. Arrived with sweat stains under the arms. Seller claimed he 'was told' it was unworn 🤦‍♂️

trader21c · 27/05/2025 07:22

Yeh I bought a dress BNWT -quickly checking it over had rips where the belt attached to the dress (hidden by the tie belt in the listing). No way was this BNWT - seller gave me a refund including postage and I kept the dress can’t believe it! They surely were aware of this …

trader21c · 27/05/2025 07:24

@WhoAreYouTalkingTo this also bemuses me the seller you’ve linked to has no reviews but it says frequent uploads often see this - am I being obsessive smelling a rat????!

treetopsgreen · 27/05/2025 07:25

why not just be honest?

crazeekat · 27/05/2025 07:26

I smell bullcrap.

Freshplay · 27/05/2025 07:31

I report each and every time I see this. It is not new if it has been worn.

We need an MN campaign of reporting. 😀

RedRosesAndGypsophelia · 27/05/2025 07:42

I have a theory that people are keeping the tags, wearing the items until they are done with them and then reattaching them to sell on Vinted!
I also think people are attaching 'real' tags to counterfeit items....
It has put me off to be honest, I just buy things in the sale direct from the company now.

nomas · 27/05/2025 07:56

What the poster means is that you will get caught anyway and end up losing money as you have to reimburse postage. So might as well label thrm as worn.

My thoughts exactly!

To those saying "it's only £8", it's not about the money, it's about the audacity. I don't buy second hand worn shoes, it's unhygienic. If they had been listed as used I wouldn't have viewed them, even if they were £1
