To think this is really cheeky

So where I live the local farmer allocated a bit of extra garden to the rear of the houses. Currently all I do is cut the grass while i decide what to do with it. So next door asked me today if they can put up a trampoline in my bit of garden . Part of me thinks say yes as their garden at the rear of their house is awful and full of junk . But then another bit kicks in and thinks no sort your own garden out . Advice please

My advice is to say “no”. Next!

KittytheHare · 26/05/2025 18:39

Tell your neighbour to get lost!! Honestly some people are so cheeky.

TheyreLikeUsButRichAndThin · 26/05/2025 18:40

No don’t let them because then it will easily become permanent.

Koalafan · 26/05/2025 18:41

If this is actually real then of course 'no' is an acceptable answer.

EdithStourton · 26/05/2025 18:41

NO!
Or you'll never get rid of it.

LittleLadyCece · 26/05/2025 18:41

Definitely No . You’ll never get them off. Why don’t they just tidy their own garden to put the trampoline on! Some people!

CaptainMyCaptain · 26/05/2025 18:41

Absolutely not.

Kneeslikethese · 26/05/2025 18:42

No, I wouldn't want kids bouncing up and down in my line of vision

Hoardasurass · 26/05/2025 18:42

Laugh and say no or laugh and tell them they're cheeky tuckers and clear their own garden if they want a trampoline

MiloMinderbinder925 · 26/05/2025 18:42

Tell them you're planning a vegetable plot.

NineteenSeventyNine · 26/05/2025 18:43

You’d obviously be mad to even contemplate saying yes to this.

LikeARacoonOnMeth · 26/05/2025 18:43

I’m just wondering if you realise that you can’t just turn a field into a garden without planning permission?
Whilst it’s lovely to have the extra space, I’d just be wary of spending £££’s on plants/paths/bench or whatever, especially if you then have to spend ££’s turning it back to how it was if the council get wind, which they might to if trampoline family are annoyed at refusal.

But no, I’d tell them to sort their own garden out and to not expect me to give up my space.

Tagyoureit · 26/05/2025 18:43

Well obviously it's a no! They can sort out their garden

Danioyellow · 26/05/2025 18:43

So they’ve filled their garden so full of junk that they can’t fit in anymore. And now they want to fill up yours?

Scar88 · 26/05/2025 18:43

No, it's yours!

RedBeech · 26/05/2025 18:44

NO!!!! They need to sort their garden out. Next thing you know their junk will seep into your 'shared' space.

Just say you have plans for that section of the garden.

Thepeopleversuswork · 26/05/2025 18:44

I don't think its cheeky to ask: don't ask, don't get. But you're well within your rights to say no. If you don't want it, you don't have to have it and I wouldn't because you'll never get rid of it.

Koalafan · 26/05/2025 18:46

It's very cheeky to ask if you also have equal space but choose to fill it with junk. 🤔

NovemberMorn · 26/05/2025 18:47

Firstly, you are lucky to have been allocated extra garden space.
Secondly....a resounding NO to your neighbours.

eldermillenialmum · 26/05/2025 18:49

Say no

Why can't they use their own?

Screamingabdabz · 26/05/2025 18:50

Why would you even dither about this? The answer is no. They need to use their own garden.

Lovelycupofcoffee · 26/05/2025 18:53

I think I felt a bit sorry for the kids as their garden is awful .But it will be a no from me .

In my experience no good deed goes unpunished. NO would be my response.

Fuckitydoodah · 26/05/2025 18:54

Absolutely no way. You'll struggle to ever reclaim it. Like you say, they need to sort their own garden out.

Lovelycupofcoffee · 26/05/2025 18:55

@eldermillenialmum Their garden is awful
