To ask for a hack to cinch the waist on my tank top / sweater vest?

Please help! I have a lovely sweater vest (think thin-knit jumper with no arms) that needs bringing in at the bottom hem. It was always loose and has stretched somehow.

Fits nicely on the chest so it’s not an overall shrink I’m looking for.

YouTube is full of ideas if you can cut bits out and re sew them. I can’t. I’m not skilled. I don’t have a sewing machine. I do have safety pins, string, bits of elastic. Anyone got a hack? 🙏🏻

Search "pants waist tightener" on Amazon.

2 safety pins in the back inside, sort of where your kidneys would be, then tie a ribbon or something between them that's shorter than the distance between them when the top is laid flat.

You'd be best removing it for washing and redoing every time

Great idea, @PictureCandleStick!

Use a hair bobbin on the inside of your top/jumper and gather any excess material.

Wrap the bobbin around it 2 or 3 times tight and then when you turn it tight side out it will sit nicely and look more fitted.

I did it on one of the dc hand knit jumpers where the bottom hem stretched. Sewed/threaded shirring elastic around the top and bottom of the hem.
