Buying a drop side cot

I’ve found a gorgeous, incredibly expensive and high quality sleigh cot bed on Facebook marketplace. It’s about 7 years old and so still has a drop side as a feature. It’s been well taken care of and is still in excellent condition.

I’m barely 5ft and really struggled with my firstborn’s cot as when putting them down while asleep. I would really struggle reaching all the way to the bottom mattress setting to place them down, and often there’d be a bit of a drop for them!

It seems drop sides have been phased out due to safety, but is this an example of overly careful health and safety regulations? Having a drop side would really make a significant difference to me; cots/the world don’t appear to take into consideration petite women.
