It's our anniversary next week and I'm pretty sure dh has forgotten as he mentioned that he was going out with the boys the night before we go away (the night of our anniv)....should I remind him - I kind of think he should be able to remember without me mentioning it!!

(note he isn't exactly the romantic type!)

I suppose it depends on if you're going to be really really upset when he forgets! If you think you'll be so then save yourself the pain and remind him. If you're feeling strong, test him out - it is always possible he may suprise you!

I gave in and mentioned it and he bluffed that he hadn't forgotten..... I know he had otherwise he wouldn't have booked the boys night out in the diary....

But, is he still going out with them or is the entry in the diary being erased?!

I once rang DH on our wedding anniversary to find out where we were going for lunch only to be told that he needed to take a female colleague out instead 'because she has just broken up with her boyfriend and needs a shoulder to cry on.
I was somewhat displeased.

This title is like screeching chalk on a blackboard to a pedant.

MNersanonymous · 20/05/2008 22:44

omg Rosa I would be livid....

Suffice it to say, LEM, that he has never forgotten our anniversary since.
And the incident was 10 years ago.

I think reminding your DH was a good call, MNersanonymous. What I did learn from that little episode is that being passive-aggressive only hurts yourself!
