To hate tiktok/youtube shorts/facebook reels with a fiery burning passion?!

Is it just me or is another person in the same room as you watching tiktok videos the most annoying thing imaginable? continuous short bursts of some crap they are watching, with them so engrossed in them they have no idea what is going on around them and how annoying they are being?

It's way worse than someone watching a longer, continuous programme or film.

Sometimes they keep showing you the videos too and you have to feign interest 😫

I don't actually watch Facebook shorts, but I DO object to the way they pop in at the top of my feed with the most eye-catching part (a lot of mine are horsey - so it's a horse doing something dramatic) with a kind of clickbait write up.... I want to know what happens next but I'm buggered if I'm going to go and look and have my entire feed swamped by more and more of the things.

I also dislike them intensely.
I see them as a deliberate attempt to degrade our ability to concentrate for long periods.

Some people can' even concentrate on the whole thing when they are that short! which makes it all the more annoying to hear them scrolling. One line of music, then another, then another. AAAAARGH

Dislike them and ignore them… I find the ones I have seen trivial and boring. My husband however thinks they are a hoot, especially if it involves animals or sparky babies…. always telling him not to share as zi don’t open and to mute so I don’t get bursts of loud talking/ laughing/ barking at midnight 🥱

The problem is surely that the person in the same room as you has the sound on? That is very rude and annoying. Phone on silent if you're in a shared space, surely.

They’re all annoying, but Facebook shorts seem to be particularly bad, admittedly I don’t use TikTok. It’s either some prank that’s not even remotely funny, borderline abusive, or someone exposing a cheating partner and filming the whole dramatic process, that’s dragged out for ages, with endless clues or layers of clothing being peeled away until you’ve lost the will. What is the actual point? What do these idiots even get out of this nonsense?

I like tiktok and some Facebook reels etc but it's definitely a solo activity i would be annoyed if I was trying to watch telly or something and someone had the volume on their phone i also have zero interest in repeatedly seeing videos others find funny and fake laughing

It’s more the fact that people can’t seem to leave their phones alone. Even for a short period of time. I’ve been sat in the cinema or at the theatre with people scrolling through these and I just think, what’s the point of being here?

My Son gets told to turn them off if he starts watching, I just can't abide them and they are honestly a load of mindless shit.
I rarely go on FB but when I do i have it muted because I cannot stand all the inane chatter from daft shorts popping up, especially that annoying AI voice over that seems to be on everything

Yes, or the same five songs which seem to be on all these shorts. Drives me nuts

I like them, mainly I get the dog ones, but I always have earbuds in when watching

I like them, I get to see cute parrots doing funny things. I always mute it until I see one I want to watch though
