Pay for accommodation.....?

An ex-student of mine wants to stay the night, with her partner, in June. I like her but we are not close friends and haven't seen each other for 6 years. She lives in Europe. She has offered to pay as I used to do Airbnb. Should I charge her a nominal sum, maybe £30, or just leave it?

Do you want to host her? If not, just say “no, sorry, I use that room for my macrame now. Let’s meet up for a coffee or lunch instead.”

I agree with Alertcat, I’d just say I’m not hosting at the moment and suggest an Airbnb.

If you do want to host, definitely charge her near the going rate else you’ll always end up hosting her.
