Crying at work

Please. I need help. Does anyone know how to stop yourself crying when you cannot control your emotions. I'm in peri menopause and it's really getting to me now. I don't want to be the one always crying. Please help. It can't just be me?

Are you getting treatment for your perimenopause? (HRT?)

Are you sure it's perimenopause that's causing this? Could be stress or depression?

Have you spoken to your GP?

Notmyrealname22 · 21/05/2025 07:51

No, it’s not just you. My new found strategy is to do some maths. It apparently engages a different part of the brain. I did it recently on a teams call, so was able to write down some sums on my notepad to distract and control myself. In person, I guess it would have to be mental maths.

but short term strategies aside, is this the right job for you? Is there something or someone that is causing you to cry other than just perimenopause? And yes, talk to your GP. HRT or Anti depressants may be warranted.

Hugs! It sucks crying at work. I am always mortified.

Get a different job!

This happened to me when I was in my twenties. It was the wrong job. Never happened since (I'm late 40s now). So it was the job, not the hormones.
