My dh’s online scent purchases all smell minging. I think they’re all fake even though the boxes seem real. AIBU? Are designer name online scents all frauds?

Well where is he buying them? Ebay? Very possibly fake.

What did he pay for them compared to retail prices? If. Lot less, then yeah they’re probably fake.

I think sometimes eBay.
I never buy perfume online as I don’t trust them.

He’s paying slightly less than RRP.

There are lots of dupes that smell almost identical, they just don’t come in the same packaging. I don’t understand why people just don’t buy these instead of nasty fakes.

I’m not sure then. They could be fake, who knows? Have you compared them with a definite genuine article? Where is he buying them?

I’ve got an amazing Ghost dupe that costs a fiver. No one believes me when they smell it and say ‘Oh Ghost, I love that perfume!’ and I tell them it’s a cheap dupe off Amazon Grin

If it helps I’ve sold genuine perfume on eBay? Perfume that is new and was gifted to me, I am fickle with perfume and change what I like so I sell it.

wildfellhall · 20/05/2025 21:08

he likes really strong stinking ones! It’s such a bummer!

NeelyO I hope they’re not fake - at least he’s not getting ripped off as well as smelling like he does.
