How to stop it.
A very long time go abroad I'm 99 %sure I was spiked.
I knew what was going on but couldn't speak and could barely move.

I was lucky and I think my spiker was working in a bar and I'd left that bar by the time it hit me and was taken care of by a guardian angel.

I'm so worried after reports of multiple women and girls being attacked at a local event that' in itself is pretty tame and family orientated. Obviously it's not acceptable anywhere but I'm surprised so many people were attacked at this event.
I went with my daughters and felt it was somewhere they could go off together for a bit because it's enclosed.

I don't know how we can stop it, how do police track down perps?
What can we tell our teens to do if they are spiked? Obviously if they are out with friends we hope their friends won't leave them but from my experience you are stuck wherever it happens which may not be near them.
Can they call 999 and if the collapsed whilst making the call would the police be able to track them down?
I was wondering what information it maybe best to try and get out in a 999 call? Name? Dob? Location?

Call 999 and press 55 to track location i believe. It can also be used in a situation where you cannot speak to the operator but need assistance

I have a young PT she’s early 20’s and often tells me about nights out/holidays with girlfriends. At least two occasions in the last 6 months, one of her mates has been spiked. It’s terrifying!
Good idea to discuss in advance with your daughters op.

Missey85 · 20/05/2025 06:33

You can but drink tests online that'll tell you if theirs something in your drink 🍻

SpikingDrinks · 24/05/2025 07:52

@leopardprint17 is that something generic for all or something on an i phone.

You cannot speak if it happens so something quick and simple is helpful.
Also time will be wasted thinking what's happening to me.
Everyone should feel okay to call 999

I don't feel it should be an expected part of the social landscape I really do feel everyone needs to make A fuss about it

I got spiked because despite being old enough to know better I left my drink unattended.

teach them to guard their drinks. Don’t let random hand them over at the bar, get some stoppers for bottles etc. Try to prevent. Xx

Where is your evidence for this?

Why on earth does she need evidence? Whether it happened or not it doesn’t hurt to open a discussion about how to stay safe surely?

Discuss yes, but the OP specifically said multiple women and girls attacked - multiple - I am asking for the evidence behind this.

I agree, but it's already become scarily normal. People spike friends because they've annoyed them, or they think they are being boring. People spike complete strangers just for shits and giggles - presumably. These drugs are freely and cheaply available, I know at least three people who have been spiked, but a there is still a tendency to assume the victim has just got too pissed. It's not only females who are vulnerable either, DS ended up in a fir bit of trouble after he was spiked, but people don't take it seriously until it happens to them.
