RH musical at the theatre. Sing-along yes or no? Usually I say definitely not at musicals but with RH I'm unsure. If anyone wants to post some pictures of tim Curry to add some bite I wouldn't say no.

So question is AIBU to make an exception to my no singing at musicals and all people who do should be shot at dawn policy?

When do you shout slut?

When do you shout slut?

Basically when anyone refers to Janet.

Needmorelego · 19/05/2025 21:39

Oh the picture of Frank is showing now 😂

Snickersnack1 · 19/05/2025 21:52

Defo costume, audience participation, the works!
That show played a significant role in my sexual awakening in my young teens… it confused me then, and to be honest it confuses me still! What’s even going on?! The writers surely had to have been on some sort of narcotics!

When do you shout slut?

Basically when the narrator introduces Janet Weiss (SLUT!)
And Brad Majors (ASSHOLE!)

HuffleMyPuffle · 19/05/2025 21:59

Please don't take rice and water pistols though. That's not allowed any more

But join in! There are sites online which will tell you the "usual" shout outs but depending on the Narrator then a few original ones can be added

(My favourite is at the start of Act 2 when the Narrator is recapping and says "What further horrors will they be subject to?" - YOUR COCK!)

Needmorelego · 19/05/2025 22:02

@HuffleMyPuffle and it used to be you chucked toilet paper in the air for "Dr Scott" but I don't think that's encouraged anymore.

Ye not allowed that either
But you do yell ZIEG HEIL

I saw the original production in Chelsea way back in the 70s. In fact went many times. There was no singing or dancing by the audience. Have seen the movie version more times than I can count. It’s an all-time favourite,

Absolutely! Extra prizes for the best shout outs, and don't forget rice and newspaper!

And water pistol.
Participation is actively encouraged.

Looooove Rocky Horror. I always went as Magenta. My username is because of her. No one will ever come close to Tim as Frank N Furter.

Janeysunshibe · 19/05/2025 23:20

I grew up watching the tv movie, live all the sings. What would you dress up in?

MrsMoastyToasty · 19/05/2025 23:40

I love the RHPS ! .it's astounding!
Definitely dress up, call Janet a slut etc.
DH and I have been several times. Its strange walking around the city centre and seeing loads of people in costume heading to the theatre.
DH once made Jason Donovan corpse too when he did a shout out.

Dress as characters
Lots of feather boas and corsets and fishnets

And toast

Unfortunately I think a lot of theatres say no to toast being thrown around these days 🍞

Total participation. You’re making me want to book again. It’s ace!
