Evening wedding reception attire

Is it ok to wear white trousers with a colourful top when attending an evening wedding reception party? I have some lovely smart white linen trousers but I am worried I would be breaking the unspoken rules. (No way I would be upstaging the bride at my age!)

It will be perfectly acceptable, I think the 'white' rule only applies during the day.
