Stitches open 9 months pp

Is it possible for stitches for a 2nd degree tear to still be open 9 months postpartum? I’ve had a look at my perinium but I’m not really sure what ‘normal’ looks like and it doesn’t look sore just raised which is what I presume is normal. I don’t have pain during sex just occasionally in day to day life it feels uncomfortable. Is this normal 9 months on?

It sounds like what you feel is scar tissue if it's raised. Weren't your stitches checked around 6 weeks post partum to ensure you were healing properly? If you feel concerned, make an appointment to see your GP, I'm sure they'll be able to reassure you.
