Blood test with doctors

Posting here for traffic hope that’s ok. What would I need to ask the doctors for to get a blood test of everything including checking infection markers and anemia? If I just asked for a blood test to check iron levels would this also show if I had an infection or would I need to ask for something else?

They will want to know your symptoms first.

Phone and ask for a telephone appointment. Once you describe your symptoms to the doctor he will very likely order the tests. You can ask for specific tests but there is no guarantee they will agree.

You can't just ask for a blood test. You tell the doctor your symptoms and they'll treat you accordingly which may or may not require a blood test.

Why do you want one?

You need to speak to a gp about your symptoms and the medical professional will decide what tests you need on the nhs .

You can use a private medical company and pay privately for blood tests too as a one off. Loads out there now.

I have previously. I suffered with anemia and infections in the past and have the same symptoms but not sure where to go with it as obviously I don’t know for sure

Speak to your GP and describe your symptoms and ask if you require a blood test. That's your first step.
