To want to kill MrFlame - Flamechick's birthday is turning into a nightmare

So, trying to work out what to do for her birthday that was cheap.

"My mate has a bouncy castle"

"Is it one of those tiny home things? Will it fit in our garden?" (Garden at that stage was in 2 halves)

"No, it is a proper one, won't possibly fit in our garden"

So, we arrange with Psycho to have it at her house (garden NOT in 2 halves). Invite 6 5yr olds - plus my 2 and possibly a toddler.

He comes home last night

"Oh it is suitable for 4 small children at a time"

So, by the sounds of it we are invading Psycho's house when she could have done without it, with a castle that is too small for hyped up 5 yr olds, and I have no way to rectify it due to having a grand total of £1.03 and haven't even bought food yet

I checked with him so many times that it was a proper castle and every single time he said yes.

WTF do I do???

I though most bouncy castles limited the amount of children on at any one time anyway?

Chocolateteapot · 20/05/2008 08:21

We have one of the smaller ones with electric generator thing you can borrow, then you can have both going at once.

NappiesGalore · 20/05/2008 08:25

transfer party back to yours then you at least dont feel youre imposing
borrow chocolate teapots one
lemme help with junkfood

Flame · 20/05/2008 08:26

Party is Friday so too late to move really.

I have no idea how many will realistically fit on the thing - I am going to get DH to go collect it tonight so I can see what we are really dealing with.

He is being so bloody vague, I like the idea of smothering him!!!

CT - That would be fabulous! I think we can fit the two in Psycho's garden.

The irony is, that the day after I sent out the invites, DH decided to get rid of the path so our garden would now be fine for it

I do have the money set to one side for food btw, it is more a case of there being a very limited budget - was feeling arsey hence the purse contents announcement

Flame · 20/05/2008 08:31

F*ck knows

Originally too big for the larger side of our garden, now only big enough for max 4 small children.

Chocolateteapot · 20/05/2008 08:32

Oh they are pretty cr@p. Took a huge attempt to get it sorted so children could stay and I could go with DH. Thought it was all sorted then his Dad announced he had moved the funeral, to just the time we had to leave. Given up now, I'm staying, he's going and are both trying to be calm. So hopefully will now improve.

Psychomum5 · 20/05/2008 08:32

all I have planned fri is nails, you know that.

I am planning to have you here, cancelling will panic throw me!!!

anyway.....I need help next week.....you can do that

Psychomum5 · 20/05/2008 08:33

well....the castles we normally have are only big enough for ten, yet I maneage to fit more on

if it is a blower one, it will be fine, if it is a pumped up one like those in argos, then maybe not

Chocolateteapot · 20/05/2008 08:33

I think this is the one we have. Hope Flamechick won't mind Batman !

Psychomum5 · 20/05/2008 08:34

we are leaving for the Great Drive To Scotland early on saturday.
and of course, because dp is involved, it has the be the most complicated plans in the universe... do you know we are now drivin g both the camper van and the yellow van up?? because 'hiring a minivan up there is complicated /expensive' what? and driving an extra van to scotland and back isnt both those things? madness

Flame · 20/05/2008 08:42

Nappies

CT - She would think batman was fabulous btw

Lol @ causing panic.

Julie/Jacob - yes it could be bad, but at the same time, Tadgh currently has a mouth of ulcers and there is nothing else wrong with him. Ulcers just happen sometimes.

Now looking at links

Have text Boy to find out about blower vs inflatable
