Worried about clearblue saying 3 plus weeks before it should!

Sorry for coming across slightly neurotic but I’m 40 and this is a much wanted baby after a miscarriage recently

Clearblue has been moving steadily each week but an early scan Tuesday was disheartening as nothing could be seen - was hoping this was just too early as clearblue was 2-4 weeks then

How can it possibly have moved to 3 weeks when I ovulated 26th and DTD morning of 27th?

Shoukd I be concerned?

I can’t imagine they are highly accurate, rather an estimate. Congratulations!

Thank you
I’ve been worrying about molar pregnancies showing a higher than normal result

I’m a little confused about the timeline? Did you say you had a scan and there was nothing on it but you’re having positive pregnancy tests? Sorry if I am reading this incorrectly but I would be getting that checked x

Yes I had an early scan on Tuesday which they said nothing could be seen which is normal for 4 weeks but my clearblue is now saying 3 plus ( so 5 weeks ) which is confusing me
I had my static smile 26th and DTD 27th so I physically can’t be 5 weeks

I’m just thinking you mentioned a recent MC, could this be hormones from then? But then you did say it’s rising. I’d just see a doc to book you in for another scan in a couple weeks x

5 weeks would be from your last period right? So that’s correct?

Matcha95 · 16/05/2025 15:13

Or your hormone levels are really high because it’s twins.

Liondoesntsleepatnight · 16/05/2025 15:14

They are not meant to be used for tracking progress. Just an indicator when getting positive. They fluctuate based on pee concentration etc

Liondoesntsleepatnight · 16/05/2025 15:15

Also conception isn’t start of pregnancy, it’s counted from start of cycle.

SomethingDifferentBloomed · 16/05/2025 15:24

The clear blue tests aren’t that accurate so I wouldn’t worry. They aren’t designed to “track” a pregnancy’s progress, if that makes sense. It will still be too early to see anything on a scan too, even at 5ish weeks, so that doesn’t necessarily mean anything either.

I know it’s hard in early pregnancy, especially after a loss, but I sometimes think all the tests and the early scans and everything can make you more anxious, rather than less. Sometimes taking a step back and allowing some more time to go by and things to progress further can help because once you’re further along the scans are more conclusive, otherwise you can often be basically left in limbo, not knowing if it’s a non-viable pregnancy or if it’s just too early. Easier said than done though!

bedtimestories · 16/05/2025 15:49

Did your HCG level drop back to normal range or did you get a negative pregnancy test before you started trying again? Your hormone levels may have been elevated because of the recent misca6and not dropped back down before you got pregnant again

SillySally999 · 16/05/2025 15:57

The miscarriage was back in February so definitely not related to this one

Period started Sunday 13th so would still be early for 3 plus weeks if it goes on that rather than conception

Hopefully all is okay - just worried myself with looking up high levels and molar pregnancy was a constant return
