My 50yo husband (lived in the UK all his life) has never heard- or even heard of- the Beatles’ song Blackbird.

YABU- yeah it’s not that well known.
YANBU- has he been living under a rock?

It’s a classic. So simple. Almost like an old English country folk song. I can hear Paul McCartney’s voice and guitar in my head just by you mentioning it.

It’s beautiful isn’t it . Not one of their best known ones I think, I’m old enough to remember Beatles songs in the charts but don’t remember Blackbird at the time. One of my favourite songs now.

I know it but am a Beatles fan, it’s not one of their better known songs and not really that catchy so I can see how he might have missed hearing it or, if he did hear it, to not remember it.

I first came across it in Gavin and Stacey at Christmas and Googled it. Was surprised to discover it was a Beatles song.
