Me: I'll WhatsApp you, then you can read it.
Them: We're in the same room I'm not going to talk by WhatsApp.

Could they actually not hear you, or were they just being a prick?

MissHollysDolly · 15/05/2025 20:26

LTB. It’s probably his mothers fault.

I think genuine, but the refusal to use WhatsApp was intentionally being a prick.

Other than Whatsapping did either of you actually try to improve the communication? DH will deny it but he has a habit of taking to me with his back turned then being irritated when I can't hear him.

If he tried to use WhatsApp instead of turning around, coming closer to me, or just taking louder if be irritated.

Why could he not hear you?

Whatsapping was my attempt to try to improve communication, and I meant it sincerely. Frankly, when making plans that involve times it strikes me as better than speech becaise there's a record in case someone forgets. Seemed like a very good plan to me.

We were facing each other, across a medium sized room but the kids/TV/Video Game seemed to repeatedly hit peak volume at the perfect moment to drown out the critical phrase.

So turn the tv down before trying to have a conversation.
