To give up on getting rid of my verrucas?

So I’ve had Veruccas for like 5 years and they won’t go away for anything. They don’t really bother me so I’m thinking about just giving up and just living with them. But it would be nice if they would go away because I would like to be able to get wear sandals and get pedicures again. :)

I can see someone has recommended needling. I would second that. Had a stubborn one that lasted over 20 years! Ended up with lots more, over 30 I would say in total. Nothing worked, tried salycilic acid, cryo, taping, banana skin, apple cider vinegar. Chiropodists tried stronger acid based treatments. In the end I gave needling a go and they went. Have to say it wasn’t pain free, nerve block for each foot and a bit of discomfort when that wore off but probably due to the numerous verrucas, I think it would be less painful for 1 or 2.
Interesting that people have mentioned getting bloods to check for an autoimmune disorder, saw a GP about mine to get cryo and they never mentioned that but it makes sense.

You need the salacatol liquid - put it on every night, each night before apply file with an emery board, put it on and wait till it goes white - it’s brilliant stuff.

I did and they just disappeared.

Pregnancy got rid of mine.

Granted, not a solution without side effects.

Same

I had 30-40 that had resisted all the over-the-counter remedies, hospital dermatology, homeopathy, banana skin. Must have been over 5 years.

Went to a chiropodist when I was 8 months pregnant who filed them down but said they would go after I gave birth.

About a week after the baby, I was in the shower when my foot started to itch like mad. Scratched and scratched and all the dead skin came off leaving healthy skin below.

The chiropodist said that his treatment for children is to have the child come to clinic every week. He soaks their foot in warm water and gives them 50p.

Verrucas are low level viruses that the body ignores and sometimes reminding the immune system regularly does the trick.

Formaldehyde cleared mine.

Honestly same. I’ve had Veruccas most of my life. I might be Veruccas free for a year or two but they just keep coming back. Do your verrucas ever bother you? I wonder why were we have verrucas haha

I read ages ago that the HPV virus is also the same one that produces warts and verrucas! I’m not sure how true this is but I was too old for the HPV jab when it came out and my most recent smear (and many ones previously) have been HPV positive!

I’ve had two verrucas for about 5/6 years now and unfortunately pregnancy and childbirth did not get rid of them 😩

If you do find a magic cure please update the thread but I’m tempted to try some of the suggestions on here!

There are different strains of HPV. They are linked with different types of growth.

This isn't true. The HPV virus that causes cervical cancer is a different strain of HPV.

One visit at a podiatrist got rid of mine (there's quite a bit you have to do yourself afterwards but then they disappear).

The only thing that has ever worked for me and my family is Bazuka Advance Treatment Pen.

Edited

Yes the pen worked on my son and he had a massive cluster verruca (made worse by the filing we did using regular bazuka 😬). A chiropodist wanted to charge my £600 to surgically treat him - used the pen as a last resort.

I can supply photos of the gross process to confirm severity!!
