Hi I realise i'm opening myself up to alsorts with this but here goes.....

Had a charity raffle on friday night loads of prizes well supported etc.

We drew the raffle at the event we drew the 1st 3 big prizes publicly on stage but as we had about 30 smaller prizes went off to let the band and the dancing get going...

One of the prizes was won by the person who donated it so we allocated the next prize on the list down.

We then re drew the previous prize.

The person in question has now complained saying that this is unfair it can not be used by the person who won it as it was for a local event, and they would have been better off with the alternative.

As the contested ticket came out second is it not just luck of the draw i.e. they were lucky to win anything at all, un-like anyone I know... so AIBU?

So you swapped prizes over? How did they find out?
If everyone got a prize then why are they complaining?

everyone got a prize but I had already writen the name against the prize before it was drawn to my attention so just drew on the paper ( thought it was my copy not the published final draft IYSWIM

or you shouldn't have let them know you'd swapped prizes

nervousal why? geninely interested .... we had many others who also won out of area but left as stood but felt unreasonable to give back the same prize when could heve been put to good use by someone else...

yes realise the ideal would heve been to to have known but the ticket was drwan for the prize as it came second, think the ticket money back sounds feasible, I have to see this person later this week...
