Play date - light hearted one! πŸ˜‚

To think that when you are with your child at a park play date you don’t pop home mid-way through for a bath?! πŸ˜‚

I was at the park with my 2, another Mum and her 2, then another Dad and his DC. We are all very good friends through school, all regularly and fairly host at each other’s homes and meet for days out etc.

It’s completely the norm that for this family, either Dad or Mum or both would be at the park flexing around their own WFH calls. I’ve always been more than happy to watch their DC to help if they are on work calls.

So when Dad said he needed to pop home halfway through, I assumed he had an urgent work call, as he’d been on the phone most of the time since pick-up anyway. But then, drum roll please….he arrived back gushing about how he’d been finding it a bit hot so had taken a lovely long, cool bath, had a lovely wash and put on fresh clothes. While the other Mum and I were both still running around in the sun with our younger 2 wondering when he’d be back and the play date could end πŸ˜‚

This has really tickled me, we are friends and I’m not annoyed, but keep laughing about it! πŸ˜‚ It did get me thinking though…do parents tend to pop home from the park for a bath whilst on a play date?!?!

YABU - this is totally normal behaviour.
YANBU - nobody does this.

You just looked after his children while he met up with his affair partner

Well I haven’t popped home for a bath mid-play date but it sounds like a plan now!!
the sheer audacity 🀣 I love how he wasn’t apologetic either. Even if he’d have popped for a shower it doesn’t sound quite so CF but a bath

I mean, I was thinking, have I been missing a trick here not popping off for a bit of me time?! πŸ˜‚

That's very bizarre. If you are friends did either of you two mum's comment on it at all?

Did he perhaps "have an accident" at the park or something?! 🀣
