To think that when you are with your child at a park play date you donβt pop home mid-way through for a bath?! π
I was at the park with my 2, another Mum and her 2, then another Dad and his DC. We are all very good friends through school, all regularly and fairly host at each otherβs homes and meet for days out etc.
Itβs completely the norm that for this family, either Dad or Mum or both would be at the park flexing around their own WFH calls. Iβve always been more than happy to watch their DC to help if they are on work calls.
So when Dad said he needed to pop home halfway through, I assumed he had an urgent work call, as heβd been on the phone most of the time since pick-up anyway. But then, drum roll pleaseβ¦.he arrived back gushing about how heβd been finding it a bit hot so had taken a lovely long, cool bath, had a lovely wash and put on fresh clothes. While the other Mum and I were both still running around in the sun with our younger 2 wondering when heβd be back and the play date could end π
This has really tickled me, we are friends and Iβm not annoyed, but keep laughing about it! π It did get me thinking thoughβ¦do parents tend to pop home from the park for a bath whilst on a play date?!?!
YABU - this is totally normal behaviour.
YANBU - nobody does this.
