Excellent. Bet Big Lorna is raging though.

Let’s face it, it’s a bit of a misleading Headline there. They’re not ‘banned’. But ‘toilets in the Scottish Parliament being used correctly’ doesn’t quite have the right clickbaity misogynistic angle to it now does it?

Butchyrestingface · 09/05/2025 15:04

I do like to watch all Wee Nic’s work being undone.

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 09/05/2025 15:08

What is the vote? Aw noes, the poor menz or I should bloody well think so?

ThatCyanCat · 09/05/2025 15:08

That's because they are men and those toilets are for women. They can use the men's room (where women including transmen cannot enter) or any mixed sex facilities.

Shetlands · 09/05/2025 15:10

So... men are banned from the women's toilets. Imagine that being a headline 20 years ago!

Portakalkedi · 09/05/2025 15:10

Good news, as long as some entitled twat doesn't try to challenge it.

Shadowsunray · 09/05/2025 15:11

Excellent news, it makes me smile. I saw a post on X today from JK, a TRA is calling for Scottish parliamentarians to be beheaded because of it and she was wondering if, now that the shoe's on the other foot, those two who stood smiling in front of the decapitate Terfs sign will feel differently.

I feel like this All. The. Time.

It's like this whole era has been a fever dream.

Shitstix · 09/05/2025 15:11

Good. Men, however they dress, should use the male toilets.

I can't understand how we got to this point and why so many women seem happy to go along with.

Itiswhysofew · 09/05/2025 15:12

What's your AIBU?

I would agree with this "ban".

lnks · 09/05/2025 15:17

What you mean is that men have been barred from women toilets

AnSolas · 09/05/2025 15:22

The charity has written to the SPCB to ask how the toilet policy will enforced at Holyrood without encroaching on people's privacy.

Suggestion

The normal social contract for conduct in public applies.

Adults who dont need a social carers guidance should be able to work out which spaces they are and are not allowed to enter including toilets.

If this is difficult a quick GP visit for a medical exam is a good idea as that individual is not safe wandering around in public let alone in a high security area.

WallaceinAnderland · 09/05/2025 15:22

Men should never have had access to female toilets says Scottish Parliament.

MEN banned from female toilets. Trans people still have somewhere to pee.

Actually even more misleading, as what they have done is allocate 3 WCs in the public area as gender neutral, and retained other single sex WCs. They have also designated shower spaces in the private part of the building as gender neutral and have provided other single sex spaces as changing facilities. The change they are making is minimal, they are providing appropriate spaces for all who want to use them, which is largely what most organisations have been doing.

2JFDIYOLO · 09/05/2025 15:44

Three spaces is the answer. Male sex, female sex and mixed sex.

I noticed a big venue near us that for quite a while had the male symbol only on the gents and a fecking gallery of options on the ladies has quietly had it changed to traditional ladies and gents symbols. They have a kept a notice saying 'use the one that best fits your' Yadda Yadda Yadda but I wonder if they're doing a step change and will equally quietly lose that?

There's another venue that recently built mixed sex loos. What happens is everyone queues together - but volunteer ladies stand there bellowing THE URINALS ARE OVER THERE BEHIND THE SCREEN so poor chaps who need a poo are publicly embarrassed ....

Keirawr · 09/05/2025 15:54

Scotland has gone from locking up male rapists in women’s prison to being able to identify that a woman should use women’s toilet. Who says that the west is in decline, eh?

wantmorenow · 09/05/2025 15:54

Hope Sturgeon feels suitably chastened. Never going to happen though.

Any opinion on this yourself or are you just posting to see if you can stir people up yet another transgender thread.

What's the point of just posting a link and nothing else?

INeedAPensieve · 09/05/2025 16:54

Men are banned from using the women's toilets. So, all correct and sensible.

I agree with a previous poster; this whole decade of madness has felt like I've been in a fever dream. How this was allowed to seep into public life so thoroughly will be an interesting dissertation for someone one day.

Boomer55 · 09/05/2025 16:58

Men banned from female toilets? Good, as it should be. 👍

FOJN · 09/05/2025 16:59

I see they're going for gender neutral now the SC has scuppered their men's rights agenda.

I expect there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth which will only prove what many of us have been saying for years, it was never about safety or just needing to pee, it was always about using women to validate men with a paraphilia.

OverpricedCupcake · 09/05/2025 17:00

Good, men don't belong in women's spaces
