I dont mean the official stuff.

I mean today, tonight.

Is it spent in prayer and quiet contemplation? Is there a formal dinner with all the Cardinals or does he spend the time alone? Or is he just chucked straight in with the rules and regs like the Royals seem to be?

I did a bit of research and cant find anything! I quite like the idea of a bit of a celebratory piss up, but I do realise that that is unlikely!

Crack open the communion wine, a few tubes of Pringles, and some chilled out trance on Spotify.

I suspect that it’s spent in quiet prayer and contemplation.

However after a few days of the Conclave I’d love to think that they order in pizza, crack open the Chianti and do some Cardinal karaoke.

Presumably he arrived at the Vatican with his carry on cabin bag, so will need to go back home for a supply of clean pants and other bits and bobs?

He has to move house! Do Popes have pets?

It’s this. At least I really hope it is this.

While specific details of his evening schedule have not been publicly disclosed, it is customary for a newly elected pope to spend the remainder of the evening in prayer and private reflection, preparing for the responsibilities ahead. His first major public event is scheduled for tomorrow, May 9, when he will celebrate Mass with the College of Cardinals in the Sistine Chapel at 11 a.m. CEST. Wikipedia

Does he get moved into the Vatican apartment straight away? Francis was in a modest flat, is Leo holding a midnight feast in the Papal Suite, or will he be in the economy room too?

You see that is where the rabbit hole in my brain ended up!

Seems a bit sad if he cant kick back and do his "I am the Pope!" dance!

Maybe he will have Saturday off then, as he cant really do that when he is hanging.

Although according to my father (Atheist by choice, catholic by upbringing) he never attended mass as a child where the priest was sober!

The Catholic priest that married us was a great lover of scotch, and hosted a Christmas party every year (with buffet - Pringles unconfirmed). He’s still going strong, albeit retired, well into his 80s.
