To sell this T shirt in age 5-6?

Interested in other people's thoughts.

The bunny ears with one bent over is very similar to the playboy logo. Their models were called playboy bunnies, so I can see why it could be considered distasteful.

This reminded me of my playboy themed, hot pink and black, bedroom as a 7-12 year old. 🫢 On brand for me as I did end up liking girls but probably highly inappropriate in hindsight.

JLou08 · 08/05/2025 21:58

What's wrong with Honey Bunny? I've only ever heard this term used for a child, it's just an innocent term like cheeky monkey, sweetie pie etc

SipandClean · 08/05/2025 21:58

I think this is more of a you problem.

Pickingmyselfup · 08/05/2025 21:58

To be fair the play boy bunny did immediately come into my head but really it is just rabbit ears and a pet name so I think it's fine.

Not something I would buy but I have boys and I don't call them honey bunny (and they are old enough to be horrified by it!)

I've seen some absolutely awful slogans for kids online before so this is nothing.

Loub1987 · 08/05/2025 21:58

Don’t know, I call my girls honey bunnys. It’s not the playboy logo. So I can’t really see the issue.

Catwoman8 · 08/05/2025 22:03

No I don't think they should be ashamed, its just a t shirt with bunny ears on it, what's the issue? 😒 it looks nothing like playboy if that's your problem with it.

TheCurious0range · 08/05/2025 22:06

IfYouPutASausageInItItsNotAViennetta · 08/05/2025 21:57

Yes, of course I know that. But it's a t-shirt (presumably) intended to be worn by only one person.

"Here are the WAGs" - makes sense.

"She is/wants to be a WAG" - makes no sense!

Come on, I like things to be grammatically correct but if you use the intended or for the individual wearing the t shirt you've got a racial slur on your hands. I'm happier with grammatical dubiousness personally.

Welshpoppyyellow · 08/05/2025 22:07

@sandrapinchedmysandwich

No, this isn't all I have to worry about. I'll have you know I give equal time to worrying about this and my mismatched tupperware lids.

I have no problem with that. I’ve called both dd and ds honey bunny, bunnykins, bun bun etc since they were small. Dd would have loved that as a youngster. Stop looking for offence when it’s just a cute top.

Playboy logo… that’s showing your own bias I think.

Pedallleur · 08/05/2025 22:08

Pleasantsort · 08/05/2025 21:26

Yuck. The worst I ever seen for wee girls was " Future WAG".

I remember young girls wearing shirts with ' Porn Star' on the front which I couldn't fathom why the parents thought that was good. Playboy is still out there. I've seen some female students wearing the shirts or shorts. Made Hefner rich but it was 70 plus years ago. Doesn't need to be remembered or rebooted

TY78910 · 08/05/2025 22:08

Didn’t Ariana grande reclaim the whole bunny ears thing?

Mabiscuit · 08/05/2025 22:12

I once wore a jumper to primary school with "honey bun" and bunny face on it and got teased. In the '90s it was decided by my classmates that was a really cringy American phrase.

CleaningAngel · 08/05/2025 22:13

Loomy · 08/05/2025 21:26

No idea what the issue is here

Me neither, am.i missing something?

Musclewoman · 08/05/2025 22:16

sandrapinchedmysandwich · 08/05/2025 21:54

FFS. Is this all you have to worry about?

This was my first bloody thought!

It's just a cute T shirt OP, you can stop clutching the pearls now....

YoungSoak · 08/05/2025 22:16

IfYouPutASausageInItItsNotAViennetta · 08/05/2025 21:29

Apart from the obvious grimness, why is a single individual aspiring to be both a wife AND a girlfriend?!

Perhaps the kid was non binary? 😁

AnneShirleysNewDress · 08/05/2025 22:17

My first thought was Pulp Fiction but I don’t think the t-shirt is offensive and I definitely don’t think Playboy.

AliBaliBee1234 · 08/05/2025 22:18

My mum used to call me honey bun? I don't get what is offensive about this?

brunettemic · 08/05/2025 22:19

AlrightTrouble · 08/05/2025 21:35

@Bfmamma “Everybody be cool, this is a robbery!” 😅😅

Imagine the uproar on here if they marketed that wallet for kids 😂

AliBaliBee1234 · 08/05/2025 22:20

Atarin · 08/05/2025 21:26

Oh dear, I call my children ‘honey bunny’! I didn’t realise it was wrong!!

it's not at all 😂

Fordian · 08/05/2025 22:20

Complain. Completely inappropriate. Just because ‘others’ don’t have those boundaries, it doesn’t mean those us who do see the harm - shouldn’t remind companies of those boundaries.

Whispee · 08/05/2025 22:22

Welshpoppyyellow · 08/05/2025 21:46

That's interesting, like someone has said upthread, I've only really heard "honey bunny" as a romantic partner nickname, which probably added to my reaction

Me too, I find it grim i wonder if it's an age thing.

myfavouritemutant · 08/05/2025 22:23

I was just glad they spelt ‘honey’ correctly and didn’t go for ‘hunny bunny’ which really irritates me!

BethDuttonYeHaw · 08/05/2025 22:28

It’s not my taste and I wouldn’t buy it but ‘ashamed’ is hyperbolic.

Welshpoppyyellow · 08/05/2025 22:30

Whispee · 08/05/2025 22:22

Me too, I find it grim i wonder if it's an age thing.

Or maybe a regional thing I guess!

Definitely not suggesting people are wrong to use it as a nickname for their kids, just didn't know it was a common term for kids for some.

Not getting Playboy vibes at all from that top 🙄
