I decided to share a bottle of wine with my lovely husband this evening, he poured, I went to go and get another glass. I don’t know what to say! We both knew we go through wine fast in the house but we can make a bottle of wine last 2 days if we take it home from a restaurant.

Why did it never occur to me to check how much wine our wine glasses hold? He’s used 2 375ml bottles of wine for 2 glasses. BECAUSE THATS HOW MUCH OUR WINE GLASSES HOLD!! Im horrified!! I’m already dying of stage 4 cancer so it won’t do much harm to me but to him!!

This one glass of wine is an entire 375ml of wine and it’s been a really really bad day so I’ve already finished the glass. Fuck me!

WIBU to not check how much wine our wine glasses hold? He always pours the wine (he’s the aficionado) and he always pours it to that level. we’ve probably annihilated bottles of wine in 2 glasses!

Fuck me im thick please make me feel better.

I think we shouldn’t let some posters comments and our thoughts about them totally derail the thread for sellotape chicken.

Do you think that maybe, just maybe, the people (justifiably) using sweary language in response to your callous posts don't use that language with their children?

Enjoy your wine, quality of life while you can enjoy it. You are not thick, I have a masters degree and if it makes you feel better I thought birds had four legs 😢😩😩😩 until my colleagues looked at me in dismay. Xx

I assume you must have impaired vision, as otherwise you would be able to see that birds have only 2 legs.

KimberleyClark · 06/05/2025 22:34

I hope your surgery goes well OP and enjoy your wine.

@Cctviswatchingme001 OP has been posting on cancer threads. I know you can never tell who is real but I would say it is probable that OP is a cancer sufferer.

Exasperateddonut · 06/05/2025 22:36

I didn’t even know what an omentum was until this evening so I don’t think you need to call yourself thick! I still don’t think I quite understand it. If you have it removed how do your insides stay in place? Ever so glad I didn’t become a medic (for the patients safety mostly!) the inside of our bodies terrifies me as it’s just such a bizarre concept. Having my organs sloshing around post c section still gives me nightmares.

Good luck. Buy bigger glasses and bigger wine bottles. You deserve it. AND enjoy your fabulous nails.

In what world is this not unpleasant?

‘Your an idiot for believing she's a surgeon 😂 A surgeon who doesnt even know basic maths and measurements.’

You should apologise to the OP.

I was called an idiot first and responded.

I didn't say she didn't have cancer. I questioned a surgeon having long fake nails.

Really hope you are well soon. You have to go through alot, it a massive ordeal you are about to endure. Are you not in the uk? as working colleagues cannot operate on their colleagues in the uk, as it's seen as a conflict of interests. All the very best to you.

Give over.

I’ve treated absolutely dozens of my colleagues over the years. There isn’t a way to avoid it!

I had emergency surgery just 3 weeks ago and the A&E team & the surgical team who treated me have been my friends and colleagues for the past 17 years.

Stop posting utter rot.

OP - good luck to you & your gel nails.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 06/05/2025 22:43

Enjoy that glass of much deserved wine.. and then pour another if you would like one
see it as a Pre-Pre- med!
My cousin had PMP cancer and had a similar procedure. She had to go to Basingstoke hospital( from Bath) as it’s rare
Wishing you all the very best surgery.
You know you can trust your colleagues to give you the very best care.

I've been admitted to my own hospital before now. I've had two lots of cancer surgery in my trust's other hospital. The week before my surgeon operated on me we were at the same trust training day. Happens all the time.

crumblingschools · 06/05/2025 22:46

@Cctviswatchingme001 so you still thought it was okay to be rude to cancer sufferer?

Alfiemoon1 · 06/05/2025 22:46

Enjoy your wine op you definitely deserve it good luck with your surgery. Hopefully it is reassuring you know your surgeon has a great track record for success rather than embarrassing them seeing you naked

TheHerboriste · 06/05/2025 22:48

You deserve a very big glass of wine! I'm so sorry about your diagnosis and hope the radical surgery helps!

Edited

Where was I rude? I questioned a surgeon having long fake nails. OP then retaliated very aggressively.

EarthSight · 06/05/2025 22:51

Hope you had a lovely evening OP, and I'm sorry about your diagnosis 💗

crumblingschools · 06/05/2025 22:51

@Cctviswatchingme001 a number of your posts have been deleted, so not just me who thinks you are rude

Gogo509 · 06/05/2025 22:55

OP over pouring the wine is not a measure of someone's IQ in my opinion. It happens and has definitely happened to me on more than one occasion. Sometimes for happy reasons and sometimes drowning my sorrows. What you are going through sounds so incredibly hard to deal with I can't imagine what you are dealing with emotionally or physically.
