To ask if you had hypertension in pregnancy…

(NC as to not have posts linked, regular user)

Did you get it a second or third time around? And did you end up with any form of high blood pressure later in life?

I had gestational hypertension in my pregnancy with DC1, medicated on low dose beta blockers and brought under control, but consultant wanted to deliver before due date to be safe.

I can’t find the statistics for if this is likely to happen in a future pregnancy so I wanted to ask on here. I am under 30 and a healthy weight so didn’t particularly have any risk factors to develop this.

I had pre-eclampsia in my first pregnancy and then for 6 weeks after.

Nothing with second pregnancy.

Third pregnancy all fine until two weeks after birth when I was rehospitalised and diagnosed with chronic hypertension. Now on lifelong meds.

I had pre-eclampsia with my child.

After coming off the medicine months after giving birth, I now have high blood pressure again yes

I had three pre eclampsia pregnancies. Now on long term meds as blood pressure remained high after last pregnancy. Over 20 years ago. But bp is now controlled

You are significantly more likely to develop pregnancy induced hypertension or pre-eclampsia in future pregnancies, and to develop hypertension in later life.

I had pregnancy induced hypertension in my first pregnancy, nothing in my second but had it again with my third and a lot worse. I'm 15 weeks pp and still getting over the hypertension, it's slowly lowering but still high, I was on three different medications during delivery and post delivery as it was not settling.

1 child, I had pre eclampsia.
assumed everything was ok, until I had a random BP check at the drs, it was 187/110 😳 this was years after my pregnancy. I also had protein in my urine.
now I am on blood medication for life (early 30s)
