To hate women who make a big martyry song and dance about the housework

Just read an article in the daily mail on this theme

One quoted woman says she'd rather live on a commune of women than with a man because there would be more sharing of "the domestic load"

Personally I would rather die than live with Neat Women in some dedicated to cleaning hellscape

If you want things to be tidy, tidy

Otherwise dont and shaddup about it

(I know this is possible because neither my husband nor I gaf about tidying and we have fun instead)

Do you hate men who make a big song and dance about cleaning too, or just women, as your title specifies?

She's a Daily Mail ready. Of course it's only women she hates.

Tell me you don't have kids without telling me you don't have kids.

WorthyOtter · 06/05/2025 19:54

Maybe they have one of those fairies that comes in and puts away their stuff and washes things.

"Shall we tidy up?"

"Nah, the fairy will do that, let's go to Alton Towers".

Squirrelsnut · 06/05/2025 20:58

Are you 17?

My fairy unpacks everything, I must be doing something wrong.

You HATE them? Because they don't like being slobs and treated as skivvies?

You don't sound very fun, do you.

Maybe they have am "excuse the mess, were making memories" sign 🤔

LimitedBrightSpots · 07/05/2025 10:10

The servants should shut up and serve with a smile.

Plenty of women still would let's be real! Or they know and have more children with them

But their options are stay and keep their family intact, or leave and then do ALL of the work. Do you really think a man who behaved like that is going to suddenly want 50/50 and take over half of the admin for the kids? No. You know that. Read any thread on MN for confirmation. Some men literally disappear from their lives. Some do bare minimum and then make her chase him about for everything. If she tries to meet someone else she'll get shit for bringing a man into the home. She'll be lucky if she has time to date. So then she's one and done and still doing 100%of the work.

So you're being rude about women for making the best of a bad situation.

Indeed. If you have children with someone mildly useless, as opposed to outright abusive and obstructive, there's a calculation to be made about whether it's financially and practically worthwhile to leave and at what point.

I wouldn't blame a woman with young children for staying in a "dead" marriage for financial or practical reasons - divorce is time-consuming and emotionally draining and child maintenance doesn't cover nursery fees. So there's a lot to be said for putting off pulling the plug at least until the kids are at school. And of course a lot of women walk out when their kids leave home.
