Come on mumsnet, creep my lifestyle!

Inspired by the personal stylist post - I’m wondering what is the best thing you’ve bought for yourself?

Mine has 100% been my peloton and all the dumbbells. First exercise I’ve ever stuck to!

Mostly stuff that my parents did for me: Braces to give me nice teeth; a great education; encouragement to go do what makes me happy etc.

As an adult the best thing has been my professional qualification, and also private health care/better health care options. I would also add going to see a shrink to deal with the CPTSD caused by abusive first husband.

And more shallow stuff??? I really like the awesome sportscar I bought myself lol!!! Makes me grin every time I drive it :)

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie, don’t know if you’re already aware of University Rooms? They offer exactly that, usually during vacations.

I used them for years when I had to run down to Oxford for a couple of nights and didn’t want to pay hotel prices. They have become much more expensive lately (and they’ve expended their remit) but it’s still a good way of arranging a few nights in a college. IIRC you breakfast in very grand surroundings at Christ Church, though the accommodation might be a bit basic.

Yes, thanks. That’s exactly what I want to do albeit only for one night because they are very basic. I only want to do it to have a crappy breakfast but in a remarkable setting. 😂
