Morning all, just woken up after arriving back from Cyprus lastnight. My lip felt really sore and swollen so looked in the mirror and have a cluster of blisters or something on the one side. Does anybody know what it is or how I can get rid of it as it looks disgusting and is really sore? Thanks

Have you had lip filler recently? It looks like it could be an infection at the injection site especially if it feel swollen? Send a picture to your aesthetician for advice, you might need antibiotics from the GP. Hope you get sorted it looks sore

I do have filler in my lips but they’ve been done around 5 months now however I will still send over a photo and ask if they have any advice. Thanks

I second cold sore. Sun exposure can trigger them.

Pretty sure op would have mentioned lip filler if she’d had it recently! A beautician isn’t medically trained to diagnose what that is and will just say ‘speak to dr’.

Go to a pharmacy op, some can diagnose and treat/prescribe if antibiotics are needed or advise on OTC treatment.

Most sensible people don’t go to beauticians for aesthetics!

If you've had them before then it could definitely be that

AprilShowers25 · 03/05/2025 13:05

Cold sore, I get them on flights if I don’t use the cream, I think it must be the air con or something drying my lips out.

TheWickerWoman · 03/05/2025 13:06

My mum got exactly the same and funnily enough it was in Cyprus. She got clusters of cold sores around her lips similar to what you’ve got, I think the sun can trigger it.

Cold sores can swell massively. I had one that actually deformed my face!

Definitely looks like a cold sore to me. You have my sympathy, they are awful
