So there was a post on SM about a woman and her DH loving sports and all tongue in cheek. She said her husband wants to watch every screen in the house, is it normal?! Tongue in cheek really but her DH found it funny as did a few others. All comments were made by women having a giggle etc.. aside from her BIL and DB who commented.

Then another male who she hardly knows posts a jokey comment with Xxx at the end.

What would people think of that with the 3 x’s? Imo it’s not normal to put that many ‘X’s as a male acquaintance at best

My bet is it is your partner who put the XXX and you want to know if he is having an affair…let’s wait and see once the drip drip drip comes

Maybe it was to show his comment was meant to be light-hearted? A winky face is even more likely to be taken the wrong way.

Maybe he ends all his messages with xxx? Did you look?

Maybe he just likes you as a pal and was feeling affectionate.

Or maybe he's got a huge crush on you, so overwhelming that he doesn't mind everybody on your socials knowing about it.

I think it’s the other way around…OP’s partner has kissed a colleague or friend of a friend’s SM and now she is panicking that she is being cheated on

I don't interpret the x's literally, I think people just use them when they sign messages sometimes, especially if the message is a little snarky.

I think if there were anything inappropriate going on, they'd have to be incredibly stupid to put kisses on an open message. So it's probably innocent.

I've done it to colleagues before when I've been messaging my other half/friends at the same time.

I thought this was going to be an AIBU about it bring inappropriate for the woman's H to watch sport on "every screen in the house".

I've got one tv. - a small one - and I'm.envisaging someone living in a house that's akin to.a Sports bar with massive screens in every room , all showing sport if some description. Sounds like hell on earth.

Asking a question about that would be much more to the point than about kisses on a social media post.

I grew up in NZ. I only really saw people put xxs to loved ones and very close friends. In my experience it is totally different in the UK. I had a window washer who did it lol.

I personally still don't do it, but I've got used to getting them from people I barely know (men and women).

So unless there's a wider context, it's not inappropriate (just a bit weird in my personal opinion).
