Is it ok to wear a silver necklace with yellow gold rings ? I’m looking at buying a couple of rings I love which are yellow gold however I already have Tiffany necklaces which I love and wear a lot . I prefer the rings in yellow gold so wanted to know if it’ll look ok

Of course it is. You can put whatever the feck you like on your body.

Largestlegocollectionever · 02/05/2025 16:24

Wear whatever you want! I mix and match

steff13 · 02/05/2025 16:24

It's fine by me.

Baconking · 02/05/2025 16:25

I do. I have a both on the same finger

TheFormidableMrsC · 02/05/2025 16:25

Yes I mix and match a lot.

MeganM3 · 02/05/2025 16:25

Yes!

MrsPerfect12 · 02/05/2025 16:25

It's more modern to mix like this. It's totally fine. My rings are platinum and I wear gold and rose gold jewellery, my watch is both
gold and silver so it ties in okay.

I would say it depends on your skin tone.

on one hand, you can wear what you like; on the other, do you want it to look good?

AcquadiP · 02/05/2025 16:28

I do it all the time!

I'm going to be an outlier here and say I personally don't like the look unless it's part of the design of the piece. I try to co-ordinate any bag and visible zip hardware as well. No, I don't colour co-ordinate my bags and shoes!

Ohyure · 02/05/2025 16:34

It depends. On what I don’t know! Sometimes it looks good, sometimes not.

For me, a fair skin tone won’t look good with gold. Silver, yes. Maybe a rose gold wouldn’t wash one out as much?

Generally people wear the same wedding ring throughout their lives.
For many of us, that will be a gold band.
It genuinely doesn't stop us wearing silver necklaces, earrings, bracelets, or indeed any other colour.

Yes - I bought myself a gold and silver watch to make it clear to the educated observer that my mixing of metals is a style choice.

Along with the watch, I wear my wedding band, engagement ring and eternity ring, which are all platinum, and on my right hand I wear my grandma’s wedding ring and engagement ring, which are gold.

Earrings and necklace will vary depending on what I’m wearing.

MadameSzyszkoBohusz · 02/05/2025 16:58

There should have been a smilie face after that first paragraph to make it clear I was being pretentious for comedic effect - I don’t imagine for one second anyone really notices or cares what I’m wearing! 😆

Fantailsflitting · 02/05/2025 18:35

it's not the degree of paleness which determines whether you suit yellow or gold metals. It is whether you have yellow or pink undertones. Yellow undertones (check if your wrist veins are greenish) generally suit gold and pink undertones (with blue wrist veins) suit silver. Redheads can be pale but generally have warm yellowish undertones.

BCBird · 02/05/2025 18:37

Do as you please. Fashion police's opinion is irrelevant

LeaveALittleNote · 02/05/2025 18:42

Personally I prefer to coordinate, but recently I have mixed silver and gold (because my ring finger swelled up in the heat and I couldn’t get my wedding ring off!).

DPotter · 02/05/2025 18:49

You have my full permission

That’s me—gold engagement, wedding and eternity rings. Silver around my face—necklace and earrings. Usually silver bracelet or bangle if I’m dressing up.

Speckyfourfries · 02/05/2025 19:49

I have a gold wedding ring and gold engagement ring and feel really wierd if I wear a silver necklace or ear rings. I don't really "do" jewellery though that often.

Crushed23 · 02/05/2025 19:55

I do this. I wear a mix of gold and silver jewellery, particularly rings. Not to sound like a complete bellend, but it’s kinda my ‘thing’ and I get complimented on it. 😁

CiaoMeow · 02/05/2025 20:08

I love gold and silver together. I think it looks much more interesting than wearing all the same coloured metal.
