To think that the less you rely on friends, the easier it is to make them?

It seems like friendships come more naturally when there’s no pressure or expectation attached. When you don’t need anything from someone - whether it’s emotional support, validation, or constant contact - people seem more drawn to you.

But is that really true? Does independence make friendships easier or does it just keep them superficial? Do deep, lasting friendships require a level of reliance or is that what drives people away?

A degree of of independence yes, though being Teflon and impermeable probably doesn’t help either!
