To be considering divorce...

I'm cooking DH a romantic dinner for two tonight, and between courses (while he finishes a game on his Xbox - with my consent!), I decided to log onto MN for some light entertainment, only to find it BLOCKED!

With a message saying "Your loving husband has blocked mumsnet in the hope that he may get some conversation from you today"! You should have seen my face - proper

Turns out he did it at midday though, so was a full 8 hours before I tried to log on and found out - he was amazed it had been this long!

So - I think I am being perfectly reasonable to be considering divorce - blocking Mumsnet has to be reasonable grounds surely

I take it his Xbox controllers are now for sale on eBay?

Tortington · 18/05/2008 01:16

absolutley who te fuck does he think he is to monitor and ban things? is he your fucking father?

ttriflenorks · 18/05/2008 01:17

I would of shoved the Xbox where the sun don't shine along with sky,the tv and the dvd player.

Alambil · 18/05/2008 01:19

ROFL that's funny!!

Take the fuse out the Xbox plug!

VictorianSqualor · 18/05/2008 01:20

Was it a joke or for real?
I once cooked DP a nice dinner, got changed and everything, to watch him PAUSE HIS GAME for dinner and come back to it between courses.
He won't do it again.

Easy, custardo!

assuming that she is perfectly capable of unblocking it (hence her post) and it was actually a rather sweet attempt to gain her attention on a romantic date?

But yes, divorce him, of course

ManhattanMama · 18/05/2008 03:02

I think it was a joke on his part - although he did say to me that "everytime he's tried to have a serious conversation with me the last week I've been on MN" (his fault for always picking the exact moment I pick up the laptop to have a serious chat!).

I told him his steak was staying on the griddle till he fixed it which unsurprisingly elicited the desired response!

Anyway, early night for us

I think that's `quite funny. And strangely attentive.

But still, hide the Xbox.

BEAUTlFUL · 18/05/2008 19:55

Awww, that's sweet. When you've finished your "early night" (you won't come here and log-in between positions, will you?!) can you tell me how to block a webpage with a message? Ta

getmeouttahere · 18/05/2008 21:06

Give him a blowjob then come back to MN.

Seriously, i think this is a light hearted thread. Hide his Xbox stuff and put your sexiest underwear on.

amytheearwaxbanisher · 18/05/2008 21:15

hide the xbox or at least his favorite game

ManhattanMama · 19/05/2008 17:26

No idea how he did it! Will find out and report back.

It was indeed a light-hearted thread, no plans for divorce quite yet...
